I often feel small and want to be further shrunken. perhaps this is just me. once, I went to Molly Allis' "I'll Love You Since the Beginning Of Time" installation and I felt small but huge at the same time. Molly created a sprawling blanket fort that you made you feel like you were marooned in space but in a way that was comforting. you had to work together-there was no single part but a singularity of existing in the space-in SPACE. you are simultaneously huge and small. I feel this way when I listen to Molly's work with masterful musician Jenica Anderson as Bear Club. these are songs that simultaneously feel new and ancient. sometimes it is like I have always known this music and sometimes it is brand new. how is it that pop can do this? what is this unbelievable chord? it is bear club.
